1. Who we are

NeQu is operated by Good Hair No Hair LLC("we", "us"). We are the data controller for the personal information described in this notice. Contact: support@nequ.app.

2. What we collect

• Account data: email address, name, password hash, authentication provider (e.g. Google).
• Study data: answers, accuracy, streaks, confidence ratings, time spent, subject progress.
• Support messages: anything you send us.
• Device & usage: IP address, browser/user-agent, pages viewed, and other telemetry used for security and product improvement.
• Payment metadata: subscription status, plan, and Paddle customer/subscription IDs. Card details are collected and stored by Paddle, never by us.

3. Why we use it

• Provide the service and personalize your study sessions (performance of contract).
• Authenticate you and secure your account (legitimate interest, legal obligation).
• Process subscriptions and prevent fraud (performance of contract, legitimate interest).
• Improve the product and content (legitimate interest).
• Respond to support requests (legitimate interest).
• Send transactional emails (receipts, password reset, account changes) (performance of contract).

4. Who we share it with

• Paddle.com Inc. — Merchant of Record for all subscriptions; handles payments, billing, tax compliance, and invoicing.
• Cloud hosting & database providers — Supabase and our hosting provider, used to run the service.
• AI providers — used to generate explanations and personalize study; prompts may include your study activity but never your password or payment details.
• Professional advisers — legal and accounting, when required.
• Authorities — when required by law.

We do not sell your personal data.

5. Retention

We keep account and study data while your account is active and for a reasonable period after to handle disputes and comply with legal obligations. You can request deletion at any time and we will delete or anonymize your data unless we are required to retain it.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your data, to object to or restrict processing, and to withdraw consent. Email support@nequ.app and we'll respond within 30 days.

7. Security

We use appropriate technical and organizational measures — encryption in transit, hashed passwords, access controls, and row-level database authorization — to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure; please use a strong, unique password.

8. Cookies

We use essential cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and remember preferences. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

9. Changes

We may update this notice. Material changes will be highlighted on this page; continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
